A charming shapeshifting adventure

Azeri - Journey's End was made as part of a weeklong game jam with a group of exceptionally talented friends. The idea was to create a charming game with mythological elements, so the team chose an experience where players control the legendary shapeshifting fox Azeri on a final journey to breathe life back into a dying world.

Aspects worked on

Animation, tech, and direction

Animation features

  • Created and implemented animations for all animals.
  • Cleaned up or improved marketplace animal assets used for the project.
  • Converted animations to use a root-based system.
  • Technical retargeting of quadruped animations saved creation time for iteration.

Tech features

  • Worked on technical aspects from Blueprinting to logic scripting.
  • Built a Montage and Notification based system that made animal archetypes quick and responsive.
  • Technical level scripting.
  • Responsive UI system.

Misc

  • Directed the design with the Co-Design Director to help guide the team vision in a short time.
  • Helped set up documentation and source control tools.
  • Completed graphical fidelity and particle effects pass work.
